Ringing in the season right, the season of FOOTBALL...

We rung in the tailgating season right this past weekend.  I had this dream that I had mimosas, pancakes, and bacon in the apartment rather than going out and getting a case of beer and hot dogs and chips.  We decided to keep it classy.  So needless to say I made a trip to Meijer and made my dream come true...

Last night had pretzels and hummus for dinner along with some drinks. This past weekend was a riot - needless to say I haven't been "in" a residence hall in over a year and well I was this past weekend... On the menu for tonight is Lemon Garlic Chicken, baked in the oven and it is fabulous.  I didn't make any sides but instead have fresh Michigan Blueberries and cut up strawberries to go along with it.

Don't Wear White After Labor Day

Thank god for Labor Day Weekend aka my mini-vacation from East Lansing for a few days. It was so nice to get away and go to the beach and grill everyday and literally sleep in till oh, you know.... 9AM no, 3PM (apparently I was super tired - maybe it was all that socializing tailgating - let's be real - I did Friday evening). Anyways it was super gorgeous weather, went swimming, read for school, got a little tan, went blueberry picking and I was finally able to cook for a good group of people... or just my family.

Here was the menu, bare with me its going to be a load:
And we went blueberry picking...
Grilled Chicken Salad
Cheeseburgers!
Grilled Chicken Salad (chicken, mayonnaise, red onion, cucumber, and tomato) Sandwiches
Homemade Four Cheese Pizza & Spinach and Feta Pizza

Grilled Chicken with Wild Rice, Steamed Broccoli, Salad and baked beans.

Cheeseburgers straight off the grill with Veggie Sticks, yum.

And for tonight.. Four Cheese Tortellini with Tomato Basil Sauce and Garlic Bread #winning

And now I have 6 pounds of fresh blueberries in my freezer.. and brought home a homemade apple crumb pie for my roommate and I. Perfect weekend for cooking and acquiring fresh produce and baked goods..

How to Love

VMA's were tonight. Fabulous as always. Tunechi's back!  Anyways wanted to update this bad boy.. a lot has been going on.  I'll be in more detail later - busy day tomorrow. Oh man.  Juggling all these responsibilities of Homecoming Court, my internship, chairperson, and school - getting overwhelmed.  Anyways so I decided to cook dinner tonight.  It's kind of a bad picture, but hey I promise it'll get better as the week goes on.  Well tomorrow will probably be out-to-eat or take-out since I'll be gone from 10:45am-11pm, yay me.

Dinner tonight with the godsister was Tomato Basil Garlic Chicken with sliced cucumbers and white sticky rice. Simple and basic, yet tasty.

Shake Your Money Maker..

Started my internship with Altria and I absolutely LOVE it.  It is so different from what I thought it would be and I have learned so much, even just in the four days that I have been working.  All the interns are super nice as well and the company values and embodies everything that I personally value, as well.

Anyways, celebrated Kyle's 21st yesterday and saw Taylor Swift in concert at Ford Field.  Had a bonfire.  Went to the mall today and dropped a pretty penny with Jill.  I spent entirely too much money, but it was all necessities for my internship and a few things that I didn't really need - but hey, they were on sale.  I am such an impulse buyer and sometimes its to a disadvantage.  You can see the damages below....

Created my own lunch yesterday, I call it Mexican Mix-up Bowl.  It is just organic brown rice, half of an avocado, black beans, salsa, topped with fresh lime juice.

It's been a long time, long time, long time. Should've let you....

Sorry have Aaliyah stuck in my head.  Anyways I am back and ready for action - well I need a break from that kind of action, actuallySeriously, I am so glad I have a mini-summer vacation away from East Lansing.  For such a large school, it is such a small world.  And that is all I am going to say.  And boys will be boys..

Any who, on my healthy kick once again since I am living back home for the summer - yipee! But it does mean FREE and no bills! And my internship starts on Monday, officially, with Altria. Did all the paperwork and onboard process today.  Went to Target and bought some nail polish, headbands, a book, LUNA protein bars, and a birthday card for my BFFL.  Yes that is an account of what I purchased today, since I have nothing better to account for.  Drove to DTW three times this week in two days - I feel as if that's some sort of record or something. Maybe I get a prize or a high five? Who knows.

So for lunch today I made for my boys (my dad and brother and brother's friend)
Toasted Turkey Whole Grain Subs.
Made with 2% Swiss cheese, spinach, a tomato, and dijon mustard. They were a hit - gone in seconds.
And for dinner I made Chicken Cones (or known as Homemade Chicken "Snack" Wraps)
Made with chicken, almonds, corn flakes. Topped with a cilantro, lime, mayonnaise sauce.

Imma let you finish, but...

I think its been a good three weeks since I've blogged a lot has happened:
People have confessed their love for me their wanting of numerous booty calls. I wish that was a joke... but I guess in an odd way its flattering. And no, I haven't taken any of them up on it.
Someone is still talking lying about me. It's getting old.
On a happy note, went to St. Louis for a week.
Got nominated for something that makes me really extremely happy!
Personal note: (may be TMI) but my rear-end got bigger! Although, so did everything else by a smidge.. I got to get that gym membership and diet underway.. #shoot
Had anti-valentines day with the roommate and bought $15 worth of European foreign chocolate
I GOT LIL' WAYNE AND NICKI TICKETS FOR APRIL 2ND!!
I would've got backstage passes but I didn't have $1000 to blow on a concert. But in the near future, expect me to be back there.. Yes, we'll probably be dating or married.  Don't be jealous.
I can't really think of anything else.. but I'm sure more will come to mind, since clearly you are still reading this.

What else...

A lot of shit has hit the fan - especially when you leave for a week.  People start talking and creating drama, oh joy. Excuse me, are we still in High School because it sure feels like it...
Haven't been able to cook since I haven't been home, but found this super cute market in downtown St. Louis (picture to be included at the bottom of this post).
I am back home for the first time since New Year's and it feels so good to be back!

What I was able to cook/other random photos I've taken on by handy-dandy BlackBerry for the past few weeks will be listed in chronological order... commencing now:
Yes, this one is the biggest since I am so excited to see Weezy in concert finally.  I mean he is my husband, so it's fine..

And to the right is my grilled cheese and vegetable barley soup that I had when I had bronchitis last week/still kind of have it...

Made Coconut-Curry Chicken with my Godsister a four Sundays ago.. It was really good!  And she thought so too...
Made Blueberry Pancakes with Turkey Bacon a few Saturday's ago.. I don't remember when exactly.  It must have been, shoot I don't know.  But it was good.
Apparently I have an extreme hatred for the Heat.. Not really the entire team since I love D-Wade, but LeBron I CANNOT STAND.  Hence, why they're on my "Shit List"
Nick Cannon was at my conference in St. Louis.  I was in heaven, to say the least.
BJ Novak from The Office was also in attendance..
Judson Laipley, or however the hell you spell his name was there.  Yes, I told him that we modeled our Senior Year High School Homecoming after the Evolution of Dance. I wish I would've asked to do the dance with him when he performed it later that evening.. I would've been right on key!
Ross Matthews from Chelsea Lately was an emcee that evening - and he was cracking my shit up all night long! Too bad he's uber expensive or I'd bring him to MSU.
The Food Dude was there, he was interesting.  And a spokesperson for Frank's Hot Sauce - he did a Hot Sauce Drinking Competition.  I almost vomited, watching that...
I got to hold a Spider Monkey!  I did not want to give him up - he was so cute..
TWLOHA, Jamie!  I absolutely love his non-profit and so glad that I was able to hear him talk.   I need to negotiate to see if I can bring him through some kind of speaker series.. Gosh he can speak.  And they're making a movie!  Congrats TWLOHA!
Cupcake!  It was $6.00 at this cute little market downtown in St. Louis.. TOM was present and I almost bought it until we saw 2-for-1 and got those instead.
Our grocery store feast/dinner one evening before a Showcase.  Emily and I split the cupcakes.. om nom nom.
Yes, this dude is balancing a 19' Ladder on his chin.  He was a bit weird - to say the least.
I got to meet The Fighter brothers!  As he uppercuts my jaw..
These "twins" as I called them were down-right hilarious! Yes, we booked them for next year.  They give hilarious dating advice.
 Downtown St. Louis
Lunch feast from grocery store, Part 2.
Collins Touhy was our Keynote Speaker. God love her and what her family has done with the American Dream - why can't more people be so giving and benevolent?
Nappy Roots! They're so old.. But a good performance after watching endless hours of country/Christian bands showcase.
Clearly I made spaghetti some time ago, and had this photo on my BlackBerry still.. Must've been leftovers from all that lying that was done a month or two ago now. Maybe not.
Colorful Spinach Salad from three weeks ago!
More bronchitis soup and grilled cheese... Feels good on the throat, especially when you can't breath all that well.
This janky bar that we ate at the first night in St. Louis.. It was probably the jankiest thing I've ever set foot in.  I wish I would've taken pictures inside.. There were stripper poles and a disco ball.. But it was a really good grilled cheese and fries, Emily and I deduced.
Tosh.0 was supposed to be in attendance, but he couldn't make it so he made a homemade video for us all instead.. Still hilarious as always.
ARC! No, we didn't go.. But it would've been fun to.. If only we had more "free" time...
I ordered a Shirley Temple. With extra cherries. Everywhere we went.

Tiddley Winks - an inside joke between Dom and I.. hahahahahahahahahahha
The plane ride back home from St. Louis to Detroit was so empty that upon sitting down I realized I could've sat 15 rows a head of me.. But I did have three seats to myself and was able to jam to some Lil' Wayne and read Cosmo. #Livinthebiglife

We left Detroit in 54 degree weather and NO snow on the ground.  To go to St. Louis where it was 72 everyday and NO snow, a little rain here and there.. To come back home to 11" of snow and freezing cold weather.  Wow, thanks mother nature.  Love you too.

That pretty much sums up the past month of my life.. You got it all pictures and captions to a few venting words before. Yep. That's all folks.

Liar, liar, pants on fire..

So I have trust issues to begin with.. and come find out I am told a lot of things this past week.  And all it leads to is claims of a fucking liar.  Excuse my french, but seriously I'm getting a little PO-ed, to say the least.  But anyways I made carb-filled pasta tonight - for the cure.  I just haven't updated this in a while and wanted to since it's my passion and all.. but don't feel like venting tonight.

Chinese Chicken.

I feel as if this is a lyric in some kind of Eminem song or something - maybe I'm trippin' - who knows.  Anyways, tonight I managed to set off our fire alarm twiceDamn, that thing is too touchy for me.  And made some chicken, sautted some bell peppers in soy sauce, and made some brown rice.

I'd like to introduce you to tonight's dinner...

Drum roll, please.

I called it:  Ass-Kickin' Chinese Chicken, original right?
And topped it off with sesame seeds.

And we're having a party on Friday, and I love how some people I know in the Bahamas tweeted me and fb chatted me asking if they can come when they live forever away in paradiseToo funny.
